It is not an open call, yet. They are starting to let traveling welders in to take the evaluation test. The
evaluation tests consist of welding 2" sch80 and 6"sch80 in the 2g,5g and 6g position. They are by the
book If you get past the evaluation then you will test and require to atain ua cert 11 and 15. There will be
6 inspectors during the testing. All 6 must approve of the welds 3 ua inspectors and 3 contractor
inspectors. Everything is by the book down to the time limit. If you fail you can try again the following
week. The perdiem is not being paid yet they have a meeting coming up in a couple of weeks and
hopefully it will be straightened out then. John green is the contractor with the majority of work and
have heard from the local hands if you have a choice on who to work for they are the ones to work for.
The ba for this job thinks they will need road fitters sometime in february not sure when during the
month. The phones are starting to ring non stop for this job. This job is 3 weeks into it. Its a multi billion
dollar job. You must pass a backround as well to work out there. The job is in Clarksville, Tennessee
about 50 miles outside nashville. The company has estimated the ua man power will be at 900 hands at
its peak. The ba is not sure how accurate that is but he hopes it comes true. It is supposed to be 2 fitters
to every welder and they need 300 welders. All this information is as true as it gets heard it from the ba.
